One of my favorite things in writing fantasy is world creating. I love to figure out the main rules in the world: Does it have magic and if it does, how does it work? Does the world have other races than humans? What kind of and what are their relations with one another? Is it a medieval world or dystopian world or maybe modern world with some magical twist? What kind of people live in there and why just these characters have a story to tell?
Just here, writing those words brings up so many different story ideas and scenes to my head. They just keep popping up like popcorn. Pop, pop, pop. I feel like my head is a bottomless well of stories. Yes, all of them aren't even remotely good ones, but some are.
But as we all know, the idea itself is nothing. It's only a spark of a bonfire that could one day be a full story in flames. I know that many writers suffer from lack of story ideas. That's never been my problem. My biggest problem is the lack of time.
I'm most creative at midday, from 9 am to 3 pm. And that's kind of a problem when my daytime job hours are from 8 am to 4 pm. I try to write at evenings, but my head is just so full of stuff that has happened during the day that it's sometimes very hard to focus on writing.
Still, I write.
My dream is that I would have all the time in the world to write and tell you guys all the stories that run through my brains. Maybe someday I will have more time to do this.
But right now? I should be writing the book 2 in the series. It's getting along nicely and I'm nearly finished with the first draft. I can't wait to tell this story to you guys!
